Wostman Eco Dry composting toilet is suitable in applications where there is space below the floor for the 100 litre container. Ideal for people with a preference for a ceramic toilet to give a traditional, quality feel. The toilet needs a 100 litre container below the floor which is included in the pack. The Wostman Eco Dry composting toilet does require mains water for the micro flush for the urine section. The running costs of this dry toilet are low as only a 14 watt fan (AC 230 V) is running.

The Wostman Eco Dry composting toilet system is molded to divert urine and allow solids to fall into the container below. The product is vented from the container below. The button at the back of the toilet, behind the lid, is a micro flush which if connected to mains (½”) will flush 100 ml – 200 ml of water. The flush mechanism uses 9 volt power. The flush is for the urine section only. You can “flush” this manually with a cup of water from the tap if you prefer.

When the time comes to empty the container. Lift the lid on the container up along the shaft of the downpipe. The down pipe does not move as it is attached to the porcelain toilet, but the lid can slide up the shaft of the container. The container can slide out for removal while you gently put the lid down.

Chose the correct location for the composting toilet system. Ensure that you are not directly over a joist and that no pipes or cables are in the way.

Mark the holes in the floor and cut to size.

Mount the 200 mm diameter drop pipe.This should stick up out of the floor about 170 mm. Let it extend as far down as the container below is located. Ensure the pipe can be moved to facilitate the container being emptied. Fix the 200 mm pipe to the floor using the metal angle mount. Seal any gap between floor and pipe with silicone (not supplied).

Install the 50 mm diameter urine drain through the floor and into the urine container.

Attach the urine hose to the floor so that it does not move around.

Place the toilet pedestal over the 200 mm pipe and seal the base using wetroom glue (not supplied).

Add the seal strip provided between the 200 mm drop shaft and the porcelain. This seal ensures that venting works correctly.

Connect the water supply to the toilet if available. Note that this will dilute the urine in the container which will reduce the need for further dilution. It will also make result in filling the container faster.
